The modern tourniquet is manufactured in an industrial environment and is actively used to provide first aid in combat and mass casualty conditions.

The advantages of this type of tourniquet include better resistance to harmful and destructive environmental factors, the ability to be applied on top of clothing, controlled compression and release, and one-handed use.
